Install and run ContaoDock
The current release candidate is an unsigned, unnotarized macOS Apple Silicon DMG built from the development branch. Windows and Linux support have not been established. Since the app is not notarized, macOS may require you to approve it in Privacy & Security after the first launch.
Install the macOS release candidate
Section titled “Install the macOS release candidate”Download ContaoDock 0.2.0-rc.2 for Apple Silicon, open the DMG, then drag ContaoDock.app into Applications. This is a native Apple Silicon desktop app; Node.js, Rust, and npx are not needed to install or launch it. macOS may block the first launch because this candidate is unsigned and unnotarized. If so, allow ContaoDock in System Settings → Privacy & Security and open it again.
The local build output is src-tauri/target/release/bundle/dmg/ContaoDock_0.2.0-rc.2_aarch64.dmg.
Build from source
Section titled “Build from source”- macOS with the platform prerequisites for Tauri 2
- Node.js and npm
- Rust and Cargo
- Docker Engine with Docker Compose v2
Docker is needed for local Contao environments. The desktop app can start without a configured project, but its local runtime actions require a working Docker Engine.
Run from source
Section titled “Run from source”From the project checkout:
npm installnpm run tauri:devTo create a local release build for your machine:
npm run tauri:build -- --bundles dmgThe resulting app bundle is unsigned and unnotarized. The current release candidate targets Apple Silicon; other operating systems and processor architectures have not been validated.
Docker connection
Section titled “Docker connection”Start Docker before opening a project runtime. In ContaoDock, the status indicator reports whether it can reach Docker and Compose. If the engine is unavailable, install or start your chosen Docker Engine and retry. ContaoDock does not silently install Docker.
